Music: Folk Dance with a tempo change!

The girls have loved learning Fjaskern, a very "serious" dance!  It's a peasant's dance, making light of the nobility and their style of dance.  The girls practiced their "serious" poses first.

The next challenge is to preserve the seriousness as the tempo increases.  Not so easy!

Art_Rainbows & ROYGBIV

Second graders study "relationships" in art and they start with COLOR. They already know the basics - the rainbow, but they expand on this knowledge to include tertiary colors like red-orange and blue-violet making an even prettier rainbow! They know how to make the whole color wheel using only primary colors (red, yellow, and blue).

And, they made these gems using their mixing skills. To see them all, check out the gallery in the lower school administration building by the gym!

French: Buying Ice Cream

Today we took a pretend trip to Berthillon, the famous ice cream shop in Paris, to buy ice cream.  The girls have all been working very hard to learn how to order ice cream in French.  Here is a clip and some pictures from class today.
