Code!

We began learning about what a computer programmer is and what they

do.  The girls learned about Ada Lovelace and participated in the Hour of
Code.  This month, each girl will continue to work in Scratch Jr.  "Coding is the new literacy! With ScratchJr, young children (ages 5-7) can program their own interactive stories and games. In the process, they learn to solve problems, design projects, and express themselves creatively on the computer.(Scratch Jr. Website)

Musical Rhythms

First graders are making names into rhythms!  We have to take into account the number of syllables and also where the accents fall in natural speech.
